Chapter 44 - The Collapse of Tanaka Holdings
Tanaka stumbled backward against his massive mahogany desk, his face draining of color as Claire walked toward him with calm, unyielding authority.
Claire slapped a heavy leather portfolio down onto the desk, flipping it open to reveal itemized records of Tanaka’s illegal shipping cartels, forged customs clearances, and cyber-attack logs.
"Your cyber-attack logs, your offshore wire transfers, and your mercenary contracts have already been transmitted to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police and the Japanese Financial Services Agency," Claire said, her voice dropping into a razor-sharp register. "You’re done, Tanaka."
Tanaka let out a frantic, breathy laugh, shaking his head. "You think the board will let a gaijin destroy my empire? The shareholders will protect me!"

"Your shareholders just received an emergency audit notification," Natalie’s voice chimed through the office speaker system as she accessed the central intercom. "Every single board member has unanimously voted to strip you of your executive powers effective immediately."
Tanaka stared in utter disbelief, realizing the woman standing before him had anticipated every single move he had ever planned. He had tried to play a game of shadows, but Claire Whitmore had brought absolute sunlight.
