Chương 27 - The Golden Anniversary

Twenty-five years later.
The main ballroom of the Drake Hotel in downtown Chicago was bathed in opulent warm light, adorned with cascading white orchids and shimmering crystal garlands. Tonight was the Hale Hospitality Centennial Gala—marking one hundred years since my great-grandfather Arthur first laid the foundation stones of our corporate dynasty in the Midwest.
The room was filled to absolute capacity with global dignitaries, elite hoteliers, financial titans, and political leaders from every corner of the globe. But tonight, nobody was whispering about hostile takeovers or corporate warfare. They were standing in respectful, reverent silence as the orchestra played a slow, classical waltz.
I stood near the grand staircase, wearing a breathtaking platinum-encrusted evening gown, my silver-streaked hair styled in an immaculate, timeless chignon. On my right index finger, the heavy diamond signet ring of the Hale family caught the chandelier light with every gentle movement.
Approaching me across the polished marble floor was a tall, striking young man in a bespoke midnight-blue tuxedo, his dark curls neatly styled and his eyes holding the sharp, intelligent fire of the Hale lineage.
“The international press corps is requesting your opening address, CEO Hale,” Lucas said with a warm, confident smile, offering me a glass of sparkling mineral water.
I took the glass, looking up at my son—now twenty-nine years old, legally appointed as President and Chief Operating Officer of Hale Hospitality Group, and the undisputed future of our dynasty.

“Let them wait just a moment longer, Lucas,” I replied softly, looking out over the crowded ballroom where my mother, our closest advisors, and our global partners were celebrating our enduring legacy.
As the music swelled and the ballroom lights glittered across the sea of faces, I knew that the empire was in unbreakable hands. The storms had passed, the shadows had faded, and the Hale name would reign supreme for a hundred years to come.
