Chapter 10 - Breach at Midnight

The heavy front windows of the mansion shattered inward in a simultaneous, deafening cascade of glass and splintered wood.

Flashbang grenades detonated in the main foyer, filling the hallways with blinding white light and a concussive roar that rattled the walls.

"Contact! Multiple hostiles entering the east wing!" Miller shouted, raising his rifle as he took position beside the study door.

Caleb didn't hesitate. He kicked the study door wide open, firing two precise, calculated shots down the darkened hallway. A muffled crash echoed as a heavily armed mercenary in black tactical gear dropped his rifle and collapsed against the wallpaper.

"They're not here for a quiet negotiation," Caleb said, his voice deadly calm as he reloaded his weapon. "They're here to erase the hard drive."

Nora stepped out into the hallway beside him, her posture locked in combat-ready precision, her eyes tracking the shadows of the staircase. The war her family had hidden from her for a decade had finally come home to burn them all to the ground.

And she was ready to watch the ashes fall.
