Chapter 63 - The Override

Dominic didn't hesitate. Recognizing the faint, sweet chemical scent drifting from the ceiling vents above, he closed the distance between them in three rapid strides, holstering his sidearm and driving his right fist hard into Sterling's jaw.

Sterling staggered backward, crashing heavily against the mahogany desk and sending his coffee cup shattering across the polished floor.

"Julianna! The master console!" Dominic shouted, keeping Sterling pinned against the desk with a firm grip on his lapel.

Julianna rushed to the central operations terminal, slamming her encrypted solid-state drive into the primary diagnostic port. Her fingers flew across the keyboard, executing a master command script that bypassed the facility's local firewall and tied directly into the Department of Justice's live evidentiary servers in Washington.

"Uploading the complete encryption keys and live telemetry feed to Special Agent Vance," Julianna yelled over the rising whine of the facility's emergency klaxons. "The entire archive is syncing across federal dockets right now!"

"Stop her!" Sterling gasped, struggling against Dominic's grip. "If that data hits the DOJ mainframes, the entire board of directors will be indicted under RICO within the hour!"

"It's already done," Julianna announced triumphantly, hitting the final return key as a green verification checkmark filled the main monitor. "The files are live, encrypted, and decentralized. You can't delete them, Sterling. Nobody can."

At that exact moment, the heavy exterior steel doors of the summit command center blew inward with a deafening blast of compressed air and splintering titanium.
