Chapter 33 - Dogfight at Mach Two
The cabin shuddered violently as the first supersonic interceptor screamed past the Gulfstream’s port wing, generating a concussive boom that rattled the crystal glassware in the galley cabinets.
"They've locked onto our radar cross-section!" Ethan shouted over the screaming whine of the aircraft's stress-tested hull. "Initiating spoofing sequence now!"
On the primary tactical display, Ethan rapidly dragged and dropped decoy telemetry signatures across the regional airspace map, splitting their single aircraft radar echo into twelve identical targets scattering across the North Atlantic tracking grid.
Outside the reinforced cabin windows, the sky flashed with blinding streaks of white fire as the automated drone fighters launched defensive warning flares, disoriented by the overlapping digital footprints.
"It's working!" Marcus yelled, slamming the electronic warfare jammer into maximum output mode. "Their guidance systems are caught in an infinite loop trying to verify the primary node!"
Elena gripped the armrests of her leather seat, her knuckles turning white as the private jet banked into a sharp, bone-crushing evasive dive that plastered everyone against their harnesses. The sheer G-force pulled the breath from her lungs, stripping away her final layers of calculated detachment.
"You're insane," Elena gasped, her face pale as the cabin lights flickered under the strain of the digital warfare battle. "You're dragging us all into a firefight with the very systems that control the global grid!"

"No, Elena," Daniel said, leaning over her seat with a cold, stone-faced glare. "We're just evening the score."
With a final, deafening crackle of static, Ethan slammed his palm onto the master execution key. On the tactical radar, the three amber interceptor dots abruptly veered off course, chasing ghost signals toward the open expanse of the Arctic Circle while the Gulfstream slipped silently into a cloudbank, vanishing from the digital world entirely.
