Chapter 40 - The Safehouse in Quebec

Three hours later, the G-Wagon turned down an overgrown logging road deep in the Quebec wilderness, coming to a halt before a dilapidated hunting cabin half-buried in snow drifts. As they piled out of the freezing vehicle, Daniel grabbed Elena by the arm, guiding her firmly through the heavy wooden door. Ethan immediately set up his mobile workstation on a scarred oak table, plugging in three separate decryption modules to monitor global reactions.
"If the syndicate's tactical squad traced our broadcast signal to the Laurentian bunker, they'll be tracking this IP subnet within the hour," Daniel said, pacing across the creaking floorboards as he unholstered his weapon. "Marcus, set up the claymores along the perimeter tree line and get the thermal scopes online."

Inside the cabin, Ethan’s monitors suddenly flared with a barrage of high-priority system alerts. Rows of red warning text scrolled across the central screen at blinding speed. "Dad... you need to see this. The major intelligence agencies aren't just locking down their firewalls—they're executing a coordinated digital blackout across North America."
