Chapter 15 - The Press Conference

Outside the grand entrance of the Pierce Global Tower, a dense mob of reporters, camera crews, and flashing strobe lights created a chaotic sea of media frenzy. Microphones were thrust forward like lances as security guards formed a tight human barrier to clear a path through the steps.

Grace stepped out through the glass revolving doors, flanked by Declan on her left and her chief legal counsel on her right. She wore dark oversized sunglasses and a structured camel-hair coat, her expression calm, composed, and completely unshakeable.

"Mrs. Calloway! Mrs. Calloway! Over here!" shouted a reporter from Bloomberg, waving a microphone frantically. "Is it true that Calloway Logistics has been entirely dissolved into Aegis Global?"

Grace paused at the top of the stone steps, lifting her chin as the camera flashes intensified into a blinding white glare. She stepped up to the bank of microphones, her voice ringing out crisp, clear, and resonant across the plaza.

"Effective as of 9:00 AM this morning, Calloway Logistics as the public knew it has ceased to exist," Grace announced, her tone calm and authoritative. "All active operations, assets, and infrastructure have been successfully restructured under Aegis Global Enterprises. Our primary focus moving forward will be absolute corporate transparency, ethical governance, and expanding market leadership without the burden of fraudulent mismanagement."

"What about your husband, Mr. Ethan Calloway?" shouted a reporter from CNBC. "Federal prosecutors have confirmed multiple felony indictments for wire fraud and forgery. Do you have any comment on his arrest?"

The crowd went dead silent, holding its collective breath.

Grace adjusted her sunglasses slightly, looking directly into the camera lens with unwavering poise. "My personal life is private. But let this serve as a clear message to anyone who believes that corporate malcehinity and deceit can hide behind a wedding band: integrity is non-negotiable, accountability is universal, and justice always catches up to those who try to outrun it."

With that, she turned gracefully, walking down the steps toward the waiting black SUV as Declan held the door open for her. The media erupted into a deafening chorus of shouted questions, but Grace had already closed the door on her past.
