Two years later.
The morning sun streamed through the massive, floor-to-ceiling windows of the executive corner suite on the thirty-fourth floor of Vale Meridian Tower.
I sat behind the sprawling mahogany desk, reviewing the global quarterly reports for our expanded pediatric healthcare initiatives across North America, Europe, and Asia. Every metric was green. Every clinical trial was breaking barriers in cellular regeneration and oncology.
My intercom buzzed softly.
"Madam Chair," Sarah Lin’s voice came through clearly. "The international pediatric research delegation is waiting in boardroom B for the annual grant allocation ceremony."
"Thank you, Sarah," I replied, standing up and smoothing down the lapel of my tailored charcoal blazer. "I'll be right there."
I walked over to the private window, looking down at the bustling, vibrant streets of Manhattan below. The city was alive, pulsing with infinite potential and unstoppable energy.

I looked at my reflection in the polished glass—not a grieving mother, not a sidelined wife, not a corporate victim, but an unbreakable titan who had walked through the fire and emerged triumphant.
I turned away from the window, picked up my leather folder, and walked out of the office to meet the future, ready to write every single chapter that came next.
