Chapter 70 - A New Dawn Over Global Empire

By Friday evening, less than forty-eight hours after the amphibious raid off the coast of Malta, the crisis was officially over.
Julian Thorne and his remaining inner circle were securely locked inside a high-security federal detention facility in New York, facing life imprisonment without the possibility of parole. The Aegis Maritime blockade had been completely dismantled, and Vale Meridian’s global pediatric shipping containers were safely en route to hospitals across forty-two countries.
Back on the thirty-fourth floor of Vale Meridian Tower, the executive suite was bathed in the warm, golden glow of a breathtaking Manhattan sunset.
Evelyn sat behind her polished mahogany desk, wearing a sleek charcoal-grey blazer, her posture relaxed yet radiating an aura of unbreakable, supreme power.
The double doors swung open, and Sarah Lin walked in, carrying a fresh leather portfolio and a radiant, triumphant smile.
"Madam Chair," Sarah announced brightly. "The international pediatric grant allocation ceremony is set for Monday morning. All forty-two regional health ministers have confirmed attendance, and our pre-market stock valuation has just hit an all-time record high."
Evelyn smiled, leaning back in her leather executive chair. "And the Vanguard asset integration?"
"Fully completed and verified by Swiss regulators," Sarah confirmed, placing the portfolio neatly on the desk. "Vale Meridian is officially debt-free, entirely unopposed, and positioned as the undisputed leader in global cellular regeneration and healthcare innovation."
"Good," Evelyn said softly.
Sarah hesitated for a moment, looking at her boss with a mixture of profound admiration and awe. "You know, Evelyn... what you pulled off in Malta... it was legendary. The board is talking about erecting a bronze statue of you in the main lobby."
Evelyn laughed softly, standing up and walking toward the floor-to-ceiling windows. The glittering skyline of Manhattan stretched out before her as far as the eye could see, vibrant, restless, and completely conquered.
She reached into her pocket, her fingers brushing the cold, smooth metal of the silver locket. She pulled it out, letting the golden rays of the setting sun catch its polished surface before snapping it gently open.
May you like
"I don't need a statue, Sarah," Evelyn murmured, looking down at the tiny imprint that represented her deepest root of strength, her purpose, and her unyielding drive. "We built an empire. And the future belongs to us."
She snapped the locket shut, sliding it back into her pocket as she turned away from the glass to face the boardroom doors. The wars were won. The shadows were gone. And the unconquered titan was ready to write every single chapter that came next.
