Chapter 59 - Sunrise Over Manhattan

Monday morning arrived with a blinding flash of golden sunlight breaking across the jagged, towering skyline of Manhattan. The air was frigid, carrying the crisp, sharp scent of an approaching late-winter storm, but the bustling streets below Vale Meridian Tower were alive with infinite potential, restless energy, and unstoppable momentum.
At precisely 8:00 AM, the private elevator doors on the thirty-fourth floor slid open. Evelyn stepped out, walking down the polished marble corridor with absolute poise, elegance, and unyielding authority. She wore a tailored charcoal-grey blazer, perfectly pressed trousers, and heels that clicked rhythmically against the floor with every confident step.
Sarah Lin was waiting by the executive double doors, holding a sleek tablet and a fresh cup of dark roast coffee.
"Good morning, Madam Chair," Sarah greeted briskly, falling into step beside her. "The executive board is already seated in boardroom B for the international pediatric grant allocation ceremony, and our investor relations team reports that pre-market stock valuation is up another three and a half percent following the Vanguard asset integration."
"Good morning, Sarah," Evelyn replied smoothly, handing her coat to an assistant as she walked past. "Are all the regional delegates present?"
"Every single one," Sarah confirmed. "Representatives from forty-two countries, including the WHO health commission delegates who attended the Geneva tribunal last month. They are eager to hear your keynote address on our new global healthcare framework."
Evelyn paused at the threshold of her private office, turning to look out through the floor-to-ceiling windows at the magnificent expanse of the Hudson River glittering under the morning sun.
She looked at her reflection in the polished glass. She wasn't a grieving mother, a sidelined wife, or a corporate victim. She was an unbreakable titan who had stared down every enemy, dismantled every conspiracy, and emerged at the absolute summit of global power.

"Let them in," Evelyn commanded, a cool, confident smile gracing her lips. "It’s time to begin."
She turned away from the glass, picked up her leather folder, and walked straight into the conference room to meet the future—ready to write every single chapter that came next.
