Chapter 64 - The Interim Order

The Vermont court issued a temporary order maintaining Adrian's legal guardianship while setting conditions for regular reports and child-focused review. The order did not award Vanessa custody, nor did it remove her from the trust automatically.
Noah sent a plain-language summary. Essential care expenses could continue under existing authority. Disputed trust transactions would be paused or addressed through a neutral process. Both adults were to refrain from involving Leo in their arguments.
Adrian called me after reading it. “We didn't win.”
“Leo didn't lose his home. That's a good place to begin.”
He was quiet for a moment. “I'm trying not to count everything as a win or loss.”
“It shows.”
