Chapter 79 - A Letter Never Sent

Dorothy discovered a packet of letters Elena Moretti had written during her pregnancy and the first year of Leo's life. They were addressed to her son, with instructions to give them to him gradually when he was older.
Adrian called to tell me because he wanted advice. “Should we open them now?”
“Are you the person the letters are addressed to?”
“No.”
“Then why would you?”
He paused. “Because I want to know what she was thinking.”
“I understand. But wanting isn't the same as needing.”
Noah advised preserving the packet and discussing an appropriate plan with the child-focused professionals. Adrian agreed.
He told me about his sister instead. She had once drawn a crooked sun on the cover of his school notebook and laughed when he complained it wasn't symmetrical.
